- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup finely minced red onion
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground allspice
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 4 flatbread buns (or other kind of bun)
- Fresh spinach
- Grape tomatoes, halved
- Baby cucumbers, sliced
- Thinly sliced red onion
- Plain yogurt mixed with feta cheese
Preheat the oven to 450° F.
In a large bowl, combine the first 10 ingredients (ground beef through ground black pepper) with your hands until it is well-blended. Form the mixture into small balls, about an inch and a half apart. Place the kofta balls 1 inch apart on an ungreased sheet pan and press them lightly to flatten them.
Bake the beef kofta for 12-15 minutes or until the center is done.
Serve 3 pieces per bun with fresh spinach, sliced grape tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, thinly sliced red onion, and feta-yogurt sauce.
