Whether you are planning a traditional Thanksgiving with all the trimmings or planning something a little different or just having pizza and beer with loved ones, may your Thanksgiving holiday be filled with people you love and opportunities to spend time with them in ways that bring you joy.
Even though Thanksgiving is enough to give any foodie visions of glorious tables filled with fantastic food, it's about something far more important than that. Sure, turkey is amazing, but a table devoid of turkey (there won't be one on the table I'll be gathering at to give thanks) is hardly devoid of the things that have us feeling gratitude. In a world that sometimes has us all rushing in every direction, there will be an opportunity to pause and gather 'round a table that's surrounded by smiling faces in a room filled with laughter. We'll share stories, great food, and precious time with one another and that's where my gratitude will focus. And yeah, I'll have delicious wine-marinated pork roast, creamy potatoes gratin, bacon-studded cheese spread, roasted vegetables, and sweet pumpkin pie. But I'll have those things alongside people I love and the smiles will long outlast the feast that is consumed and, for that, I'm especially grateful.
However you choose to celebrate your Thanksgiving, I hope that you will be alongside people you love and your smiles will outlast whatever you opt to include in your feast. Happy Thanksgiving!
