Seasoned Opinions

As the weather turns cooler and the leaves turn color and fall away, it's time to think about comfort foods and dishes that are hearty, filling and take advantage of the harvest and more. Long, sunny days have given way to shorter days, punctuated with chilly breezes and skies that alternate between crisp blue and soft grey. It's time to embrace a menu that speaks of warmth and memories. We'd like to hear about the dishes that do that for you.

I'll begin. Since I happen to be working on my first cold of the season, I am feeling very inclined to want soup. Hot and aromatic, soup is the ultimate comfort food. And, sure, chicken noodle is divine, but I'm a fan of a wide range of soups, chowders and bisques. Since it happens to be Friday, I'm finding myself craving a bowl of steaming New England clam chowder with chunks of fresh bread to dunk in it. Mmm, it's good to be welcoming fall!
