Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Apples

  • 1 lb. Brussels sprouts
  • 2 T. bacon fat, melted
  • 1 tsp. coarse salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ground pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp. ground allspice
  • 2 medium baking apples, peeled and coarsely chopped
  • 2 T. thick balsamic vinegar

Preheat the oven to 350° F. Spray a 9x13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.

Toss the Brussels sprouts, melted bacon fat, salt, pepper, paprika, and allspice together in the prepared baking pan. Add the chopped apples evenly among the sprouts and roast in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until the sprouts and apples are both tender. If desired, drizzle with balsamic vinegar when serving.
