- 2 cups sugar
- 1 stick butter or margarine
- 1 T. corn meal
- 1 tsp. cornstarch
- 4 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together sugar and butter. Slowly add the cornmeal and cornstarch to this mixture. Add eggs one at a time. Add vanilla and milk last.
Pour custard into a 9 inch deep dish pie shell.
Bake for 15 minutes at 400 degrees.
Reduce heat to 350 degrees.
Bake for an additional 45 minutes.
