- 2 2/3 c. old-fashioned oats — NOT instant
- 4 c. milk
- 1/3 c. packed brown sugar
- 2 T. butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 medium apples, peeled and chopped (2 cups)
- 1/2 c. slivered almonds, if desired
Preheat the oven to 350°F. In 2-quart casserole, mix the oats, milk, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, salt, and apples. Bake uncovered in the preheated oven 40-45 minutes or until most liquid is absorbed. Serve sprinkled with almonds and additional milk, if desired.
