- 3 apples - cored & grated
- 1 c. apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 2 cinnamon sticks - broken into 2-inch pieces
Combine all of the ingredients in a large, resealable jar. Allow the mixture to soak for 2-3 days in fridge, carefully turning and shaking it in the morning and at night.
Strain the mixture through a sieve lined with cheesecloth and store the resulting liquid in the refrigerator for at least another 4-5 days before using. To use, simply replace lemon or lime juice in your favorite drink recipes with the shrub for a festive touch. Also fantastic splashed in warm apple cider. Makes a lovely homemade gift in festive bottles.
