If you want your friends to talk about your 4th of July barbeque for years to come, then don't forget to have as many of these critical ingredients as you can. They will be lining up for next years party if you include:
- Hot Dogs
What barbeque is complete without hot dogs? Whether beef, chicken, vegetarian or organic grilling hot dogs is a crowd pleaser for the kids. Nothing is quite like them.
- Hamburgers
Hamburgers the staple of American life. Stacking cheese, pickles, lettuce and onions on a grilled burger is one of life's highlights. The only problem is having too many.
- Bratwurst
A hot dog for adults. More flavorful and preferably soaked in bear. You can please men easily with a few of these. The last of the portable meats, but a solid choice.
- Steak
While these take a little longer and cost a little more, it is well worth the effort. If you are grilling at home and not out on a beach or in a park, I'd go for it. A big crowd pleaser, especially for men.
- Chicken
Grilling chicken, with or without the barbeque sauce always satisfies. A little more messy for the pleasure, but well worth it.
- Cole Slaw
No back yard barbeque is complete without something slightly green. Often under appreciated, but a necessary ingredient none the less.
- Potato Salad
This is a must, whether it's mustard, American or some other flavor. You need this to complete any picnic.
- Baked Beans
You can't have hot dogs without some baked beans. This staple is necessary in order to even call it a barbeque.
- Soda
Don't forget some liquid refreshment. Good for youth and adults you must not dehydrate. Keep the party going and the drinks a flowing.
- Beer
You don't think your friends are going to show up for just food do you? It's the 4th of July, get the good stuff. Bottles, cans or the keg, it will keep your party going.
Get a plentiful amount of paper plates, plastic cups, plastic forks, spoons and knives and don't forget the napkins.
Sunscreen is a valid addition. I didn't think I had to mention the grill, charcoal and lighter.
Enjoy your holiday and celebrate in a safe and responsible manner.
