When December rolls around, I make sure I have a wide variety of ingredients on hand for putting together an appetizer feast or dessert buffet at a moment's notice. Being prepared for that means having a properly stocked pantry, refrigerator and freezer and a ready supply of great recipes available. To that end, we're asking you this month to share your favorite finger food and appetizers with us. Maybe your next cocktail party is just a few answers away!
I'll begin. I'm really a fan of snacks and appetizers because they make entertaining so easy. My freezer regularly has puff pastry and phyllo dough in it, as well as a selection of ice cream, homemade jams and jellies, shrimp and other seafood, and ready-made pizza crusts. In my refrigerator, I like having a wide selection of fruits and vegetables, cheeses, olives, and mustards. My pantry always has at least a couple kinds of crackers, chocolate, pudding and jello mixes and some nuts. When you have basics like that, putting together snack mixes, warm and cold appetizers or just a little something to tide you over until dinner is a snap.
Each month, we ask a different question here. Your answers and feedback will appear below in the comments section. We encourage you to check out everyone else's answers and make comments and suggestions. This is a great way to get to know people who love reading this electronic magazine.
