Food on the Web

If you are one of those folks that wants to enjoy gourmet meals, but never seems to have the time to make them … MinuteMeals is the website for you. Filled with a wide variety of gourmet-inspired recipes, it claims that all can be made in 20 minutes or less! Talk about a great idea in this world of fast food and take out.

When you reach the MinuteMeals homepage, you are greeted with an opportunity to sign up for two email-based newsletters. However, you can enjoy a lot of great content without handing out your email address. The recipes at the site are split into nine categories ranging from “Pizza and Sandwiches” to “Desserts” and covering all of the traditional entrees.

The recipes included in the site are organized in a simple format that gives you some information about the recipe, a quick overview of how to plan your time in the kitchen, a more detailed look at the overview – including ingredients and detailed preparation instructions, a detailed look at ingredients – and whether you should expect to have them on hand or need to purchase them in advance, some tips and hints about the recipe and the nutritional information for the recipe. It’s one of the most involved formats available on the web today and gives you a lot of information in an easy-to-read format. Your only complaint is likely to be that there aren’t more recipes available!

In addition to the recipe section – which is the highlight of the site – there are sections available that offer kitchen tips, an extensive reference on conversions, substitutions and the like, and even thoughts on preparing meals for finicky kids.

If you are looking for a way to bring a little gourmet back into your busy life, MinuteMeals is a good way to start. Try a couple of their detailed recipes and you’re likely to be ready to try your hand at coming up with some of your own.
