Seasoned Cooking: 2 September 2011 Announcements

By Ronda L. Halpin, 2 September, 2011

Greetings!

It's time for another article summary. It's summer's last hurrah and we're not disappointing you. Everything from zucchini, backyard BBQs and fishing is in store for you:

What To Do With All That Zucchini!

If you have found yourself with an overabundance of zucchini, then fear not! Everything from the sweet to the savory to the procrastinating solutions await you in this article inspired by over two months of constant summer squash overload.

Let's Have a Barbecue Party

A wonderful way to entertain family and friends in an outdoor setting is with a backyard barbecue party. With proper planning and the right environment people will be talking about your party all summer. Important factors to think about when entertaining are things like the barbecue grill, seating, lighting, and of course the menu planning.

Nostalgia

A vacation in a strange new place becomes sentimental when the family connection and memories associated with the surroundings takes center stage. Blending traditions around the dinner table makes it all the more sweet.

The Art of Zen Fishing

Hilarity ensues when the itty child discovers the joy of fishing … her own special way. It would take a 4-year old with little knowledge or care about the connection between putting bait on a hook and dropping it into the lake and pulling a fish out of the water to make fishing the ultimate comedy routine. This plus the secret to transforming smoked salmon into perfect lake food.

Generations

On the shores of Waneta Lake, four generations of family gathered with old friends and shared food, drink and laughter. Stories were shared. Chicken was grilled. Memories were made. This is what summer is all about. Enjoy it before we have a new season to greet!
